Bicycle Benefits incentivizes people to ride bikes into downtown Westbrook—a healthy, eco-friendly mode of transportation—while also driving business to the downtown area, bringing new customers to local shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Bicycle Benefits is part of a nationwide program designed to promote three ideas:
- Encourage biking as a form of transportation around town
- Encourage shopping at local businesses, featuring discounts for participants
- Promote healthy lifestyles and reduce carbon emissions in Westbrook
How it Works:
Bikers purchase a sticker ($5) from DDW or one of the businesses listed below. Bikers can show their helmet sticker at participating stores to receive a free item or a discount on their purchase.
The following Westbrook businesses are part of Bicycle Benefits:
- Portland Pie Co.
- Blaze’s Burgers
- Westbrook House of Pizza
- Fajita Grill
- Sindibad Arabic Market
- Legends Rest Taproom
- Mast Landing Brewing Co.
- Roots Cafe
- Weekend Anime
- Mavis Food Mart
- Mister Bagel
- Bloom Consignment & Resale
- The Daily Grind
- Ernie’s Cycle Shop
- The Mills Barbershop

Incentive Examples:
- 15% off
- Free apple or banana with purchase
- Small drink & cookie with purchase
- Buy a pour and get half a pour
- Half-price bike tubes
Businesses! Sign up for FREE and receive:
- A sticker to put on the window to showcase involvement in the program
- A sticker for the cash register
- 10 stickers to sell to bikers (businesses do not have to sell these stickers to bikers)
