Light Up Westbrook: Holiday Event Series
Every November and December, Discover Downtown Westbrook launches Light Up Westbrook, a campaign highlighting the unique offerings of our downtown businesses. Westbrook transforms into a vibrant winter wonderland each year, with intricate light displays along Main Street, welcoming visitors from near and far to explore the displays and enjoy the Presumpscot River scenery during the winter. Light Up Westbrook encourages visitors and neighbors to enjoy the season, shop local, and solidify Westbrook as an annual holiday destination. See below for this year’s Light Up Westbrook components.
Dana Warp Mill Holiday Art Walk
The 5th annual Dana Warp Mill Holiday Art Walk & Market is on December 5 this year! Explore the Mill, home to dozens of artists and small businesses, and do all your holiday shopping without leaving the building.
The Dana Warp Mill is downtown Westbrook’s arts hub, home to over 50 artists, makers, and creatives. Each holiday season, the community comes together and opens its doors to the public for the holiday rush, allowing shoppers to explore over sixty small businesses offering unique, handmade gifts.
The Holiday Art Walk has become an exciting event in Westbrook, especially as the whole city is decorated with its Christmas lights. This is a chance to explore the historic Dana Warp Mill, cross off your Christmas list to-dos, and support local small businesses and artists!
Holiday Gift Guide
Each year, Discover Downtown Westbrook compiles a Holiday Gift Guide to encourage local shopping and showcase the amazing gift offerings from downtown businesses.
Printed copies of the 2026 Holiday Gift Guide will be available at the Dana Warp Mill Holiday Art Walk, the Westbrook tree lighting event, at a variety of local businesses. A digital version will be published on the Discover Downtown Westbrook website for online shopping.
Submissions for the 2026 Gift Guide are open until November 9.

Window Display Contest
Each year, to complement the beautiful downtown light display, Discover Downtown Westbrook hosts a Holiday Window Display Competition.
Businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows and participate in the friendly competition. This is a free, no-registration-required opportunity to join in the holiday festivities and encourage people to enjoy Westbrook during the colder months. All of Westbrook’s storefront businesses are encouraged to join in!

- Best Lights
- Most Inclusive
- Best Small Space
- Best Prop Use
Voting will open to the public on December 1st and continue until December 17th. Winners will be awarded and announced on December 18th.
